We are pleased to announce the launch of a new Web of Conferences journal collection, Cahiers de l'Institut Pascal, on behalf of the Institut Pascal, Université Paris Saclay.
The purpose of the collection is to help the Institut Pascal to publish white papers (in open access) associated with its thematic programmes. These thematic programmes attract high-level scientists and PhD students from all over the world and enable young researchers to address and deepen their understanding of the latest developments in their research field. The ‘Cahiers’ therefore provide a record of the science that takes place during these meetings.
The first ‘Cahier’ to be published, Reimagine Physics Teaching: a workshop designed to sparkle exchanges and creativity, captures a workshop held at the Institut Pascal in May 2022. It can be viewed here. The idea of a dedicated collection was first floated in 2020 and discussions to define the project continued for a couple of years. Since the scope was agreed in November 2022, it has taken only six months to realise the project.
The new journal collection is independent of other Web of Conferences publications and bears some of the characteristics of traditional journals. There is an Editorial Board, for example, which is currently Chaired by Yves Balkanski, CEA and Institut Pascal, Université Paris-Saclay. Each ‘Cahier’ resembles a journal article complete with authors, an abstract, keywords, references and a DOI registered through Crossref indexation. Readers can sign up for free e-mail alerts to stay up to date with the latest ‘Cahiers’ on the collection’s website.
The Cahiers de l'Institut Pascal collection demonstrates how Web of Conferences can support organisations to fulfil their missions by offering an online space to showcase and archive their events, conference proceedings, publications and other important resources in an accessible and attractive way.
“We are delighted to collaborate on an innovative journal collection that will enable the Institut Pascal to formally publish its ‘Cahiers’ through our production and hosting services,” commented Solange Guéhot, Publishing Editor, EDP Sciences. “Our Collections continue to evolve in response to individual needs and requests and we are always happy to receive new proposals from learned societies, research institutes, universities and scientific associations.”

We are pleased to announce a new Web of Conferences collection, Collection de la Société Française de Génie des Procédés, published on behalf of the Société Française de Génie des Procédés (SFGP). Within the collection, you will find the open access proceedings of the SFGP’s biannual conference and white papers providing thought leadership on current issues through the perspective of Process Engineering. Such industrial and societal issues include ‘Circular engineering’ and ‘The factory of the future’.
The most recent conference, the 18e Congrès de la Société Française de Génie des Procédés, took place in 2022 in Toulouse, France and addressed:
- Methodologies for Chemical Engineering
- Modelling and Simulation
- Education in Chemical Engineering
- Energy Transition
- Processing of Agro and Bio Resources
- Processes for Health and Biomedical Engineering
- Systems, Industrial Ecosystems and Circular Economy
- Water: A Challenge for the Future
It is the first event to be included in the new collection having been published in MATEC Web of Conferences. MATEC publishes open access proceedings in Materials Science, Engineering and Chemistry.
The SFGP is a not-for-profit scientific association which provides leadership for the Process Engineering community in France and represents it at the European level. It promotes Process Engineering to demonstrate its usefulness in meeting major industrial and societal challenges (related to the environment, water and energy for example).
Web of Conferences can support organisations to fulfil their missions by offering an online space to showcase and archive their conference proceedings, publications and other important resources in an accessible and attractive way.
“We welcome the SFGP to our Collections and look forward to future editions of its conference,” commented Solange Guéhot, Publishing Editor, EDP Sciences. “Our Collections continue to go from strength to strength and we are always happy to receive new proposals from learned societies, research institutes, universities and associations.”

We are thrilled to announce that BIO Web of Conferences has been accepted for indexation in Scopus. BIO Web of Conferences is an open access publication series of conference proceedings dealing with all fundamental and applied research in the fields of Biology, Life Sciences and Health.
The inclusion of BIO Web of Conferences in Scopus, one of the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, highlights the journal's commitment to delivering high-quality content to the scientific community. It also enhances the visibility of its articles, increases its readership, and demonstrates the high quality of research published in the journal. BIO Web of Conferences joins E3S Web of Conferences (Environment, Energy and Earth Sciences) which is also indexed in Scopus.
“The BIO Web of Conferences editorial team is delighted with this accomplishment and is grateful to all who contributed to meeting the rigorous quality controls set by Scopus,” commented Solange Guéhot, Publishing Editor, EDP Sciences.
The editorial team anticipates the inclusion of additional high-quality conferences in the life sciences, broadening the journal's scope, and forming fresh partnerships in the future. BIO Web of Conferences is dedicated to providing scientists with an excellent open access medium to communicate their discoveries and promote scientific progress in the life sciences. It was previously awarded the DOAJ Seal for “best practice in open access publishing”.
BIO Web of Conferences offers a wide range of services, from the organization of the submission of conference proceedings to the worldwide dissemination of conference papers. Proceedings are published under the scientific responsibility of conference editors. In addition, the journal provides an efficient archiving solution, ensuring maximum exposure and wide indexing of scientific conference proceedings.
The scope of the journal covers all traditional areas of biology, including physiology, botany, zoology, genetics, and microbiology, as well as related fields such as biomedical, pharmacology, agriculture, and agri-food. Additionally, interdisciplinary areas such as biochemistry, biophysics, biodiversity, bioengineering, and biotechnology are also within the fields of publication of BIO Web of Conferences.
E3S Web of Conferences – Scopus indexation update and confirmation

Following a period of re-evaluation by Scopus, it has been confirmed that E3S Web of Conferences meets the content selection standards of Scopus. E3S Web of Conferences will therefore continue to be indexed in Scopus and any content that was paused during the re-evaluation period will be added to Scopus by the end of the year.
Indexations are often a key consideration for conference organisers when choosing where to publish their proceedings. The Web of Conferences team has therefore been fully focussed on the re-evaluation process. We are satisfied by the outcome which clarifies the status of E3S Web of Conferences and reflects the good quality science reported in the journal and its professional management. We will continue to be highly selective and expect partners to follow our rules and procedures which help to maintain high standards and ethical practices.
“We welcome this confirmation of continued indexation from Scopus and I am sure the clarity will be appreciated by current and potential partners,” commented Solange Guéhot, Publishing Editor, EDP Sciences. “We pride ourselves on doing the best possible job for our partners and thank everyone who kindly made representations on behalf of E3S.”
E3S Web of Conferences publishes open access proceedings relating to the environment, energy and earth sciences. In 2021, it was awarded the DOAJ Seal for “best practice in open access publishing”. When conferences publish with E3S Web of Conferences, all documents are indexed in the main bibliographic databases (subject to acceptance). As well as Scopus, these include the Conference Proceedings Citation Index (Web of Science), DOAJ, Ei Compendex, IET Inspec and many more.
